eContinence: The company behind the T\u00e4t\u00ae app<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Millions of people all over the world restrict how they live their lives due to urinary leakage. Our team is driven by the desire to make simple and effective treatment available to everybody, regardless of where you live.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founded in 2021, the med-tech company eContinence AB was created by a team of doctors and researchers who had worked together in the research project T\u00e4t.nu at Ume\u00e5 University in Sweden. The purpose of this research project was to develop, evaluate and implement an e-health application for the treatment of urinary incontinence. The T\u00e4t app was the first incontinence treatment app in the world to be scientifically evaluated in clinical trials, and it has received great attention from the incontinence research community internationally. Research regarding the T\u00e4t\u00ae app is now complete, and the eContinence team is now managing and building on our work so that the app continues to be available and to develop.   • Our new technical partner is Daresay by Knightec.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • We start a collaboration with Evidensa AB and the app “One million babies”, one of the apps that are most used among pregnant women in Sweden.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • We release a completely new version of T\u00e4t\u00ae on a new technical platform with a new look, simpler navigation, and more features.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • We release a completely new version of the app T\u00e4t\u00ae-m (previously T\u00e4t\u00aeIII) on a new technical platform. We do this in collaboration with the Swedish Prostate Cancer Foundation, the app facilitate pelvic floor muscle training for men. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Towe Wadensten defend her thesis “App-based self-management of urgency and mixed urinary incontinence in women: efficacy, long-term results, and factors associated with treatment satisfaction\u00a0“. The app T\u00e4t\u00aeII has shown good results both in the short and long-term for women with urgency or mixed urinary incontinence. The app is \u00a0CE-marked and eContinence is manufacturer for the app. The app is only available for study participants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    2023<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • The T\u00e4t\u00ae app is released in a new version with new functions. The app is used by many women for pelvic floor muscle training during pregnancy and after childbirth. This is supported by research.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Granted support from Vinnovas “Innovative start-ups”<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      2022<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • The award \u201dInnovation Champions of the year\u201d, Region J\u00e4mtland H\u00e4rjedalen goes to our team.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • New content and features make the T\u00e4t\u00ae app even better. It is released as a free version and as a Premium version. It is intended to treat urinary leakage triggered by exertion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Granted support from Vinnova (MedTech4Health)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Regional innovation support from Region JH<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Winner of Ume\u00e5 University\u2019s\/Nordea\u2019s innovation award for creating value from research (Eva Samuelsson).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        • Winner of Sigrid Strand\u2019s award for female innovators (Eva Samuelsson). <\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • The company is accepted into the Uminova innovation incubator in Ume\u00e5.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • eContinence AB, \u00d6stersund is registered in July 2021.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • The T\u00e4t\u00ae app is CE-marked as a class I medical device, under MDR 2017\/745.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

              • Three doctoral theses and 21 scientific articles have been published within the research project, financed through national, regional and local fundings. One internet programme and three apps have been developed and evaluated within the project. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
