Based on Swedish research

The Tät®-M app facilitates pelvic floor exercises for men

Do you need help getting started and training regularly? The Tät-m app has been designed to support you in pelvic floor training, for instance before and after prostate cancer surgery. The app has been used by more than 13,000 men so far, and studies have shown that it facilitates exercising. It has everything you need in a smart format.

In collaboration with the Swedish Prostate Cancer Association

We collaborate with the Swedish Prostate Cancer Association, which, along with its 29 local patient associations, aims to provide support and increase knowledge about prostate cancer. Pelvic floor exercises are recommended for everyone undergoing surgery for prostate cancer. Urinary leakage is very common after such an operation, and the leakage can be alleviated quicker through training. The Tät-m app offers you a pelvic floor muscle training program based on research and on many years of clinical experience.

Different levels
of training

The programme contains four types of contractions and twelve exercises with increasing levels of intensity and difficulty.

Reminders
and support

You can set daily reminders for your training. The exercises are supported by informative graphics and sound.

Statistics and
feedback

The app's calendar function provides an overview of how much you have trained.

It has been evaluated for men undergoing surgery for prostate cancer and it facilitates their exercising, find out more.

The app that facilitates training for men

The Tät-m app was evaluated in a study at Umeå University, which included men who were about to undergo prostate cancer surgery. Of those men who used the app 3 months, 9 out of 10 reported that they could perform pelvic floor exercises “correctly”, and 8 out of 10 trained every day. 97% felt that the app made training easier. Find out more about the study here.

Of 388 men scheduled for prostate cancer surgery who downloaded the app, 131 (33.7%) completed a survey after 3 months.

Guidance content

Knowledge is important to get the most out of the training. That’s why the app contains information about the physiology of the pelvic floor, causes of urinary leakage, a review of how to perform pelvic floor contractions, and a section on how our lifestyle habits can affect and be affected by involuntary urine leakage. There is specific information on prostate cancer and on how the urinary tract is affected by radical prostatectomy.
